Dates Chocolate

Place

The story begins with khajur, or dates, a fruit deeply associated with the hot, arid landscapes stretching from West Asia into western India. In India, date palms are particularly suited to the dry regions of Rajasthan and Gujarat, where the fruit has become an increasingly important arid horticultural crop.

Season

Dates naturally belong to hot, dry growing conditions, but as fresh, soft or dried fruit they can be enjoyed throughout the year. Their deep caramel sweetness makes our Date Chocolate particularly comforting during autumn and winter, while remaining an all-season pantry indulgence.

Make

Naturally sweet dates are paired with chocolate, allowing their soft, caramel-like character to round out the deeper notes of cacao. The idea is simple: let the fruit contribute its own distinctive sweetness and texture rather than treating it merely as another chocolate flavour.

Tradition

Dates have travelled through Indian food culture for generations as both nourishment and festive food, eaten whole and incorporated into sweets and other preparations. ICAR also records the fruit’s nutritional and cultural significance and its traditional use in fresh, soft and dried forms.

Modern Use

Enjoy Khajur Chocolate as an after-meal bite, an afternoon treat or alongside coffee. Dates naturally provide carbohydrates, dietary fibre and minerals, making them an interesting fruit partner for cacao—while the finished chocolate should, of course, still be enjoyed as an indulgence.
